Experimenting with colour - 2

The idea of this colouring style is similar to what I wanted to do in my final website but I was going to use shapes and lines to define the different tones of black instead of it looking like I took a paint brush to it as I did in this test version.
The floor needs to be darker and a stronger black paint id needed. I used water colour paints which shows where you have left your brush stokes which I didn't want to do as its wasn’t part of the design.

Experimenting with colour

This is am experiment to see what type of colours scheme I could do or what way I could colour the image. I could use different shades of one colour or use dull dark colours.




























The colours used on the shower curtains have the right mood for what I want the image to look like. The pipes for the showers needs be to have different shades of grey to get the feeling that its 3D also the floor needs to be have darken tiles and where the window shines through the black tiles need to be a different shade to get the feeling that the moon light is shining on to the floor.

I played around with colour using illustrator because it was easier them doing it by hand. I changed the colour of the outlines wither red or white with a black background. I though there wouldn’t be a point of doing a red background because it would be too bright but I had a go anyway.

Personally I think it hurts yours but then gain it could be the tone of red I have used for the out lines. You can't really see the design on the background because I used a different point size. I wanted that part to have a smaller line width because its give you the feeling that its at a distant and also I have used thicker lines for the foreground so it gives you a slight 3D feel to it.

i also try it with white on black whit looks a bit better then the red over the black:

I’ve also printed out this version to get a better look and it does look better then the red I think because of the pure white jumps out at you more then the building red.

I wasn’t going to test a background with a red background but as its just experimenting I tried it any way:

the white over the red is really bad you cant really make out what is what in the picture but the black over the red is much better.

This is the style I want to do my website but am going to also experiment using different colours mainly dull, dark pastel colours to catcher the mood I want not the bright and cheery feeling.

Experimenting with a variety of media

In my research folder you can find an example of experimenting with different media. For my design of my main character I used Illustrator and Photoshop. Firstly I drew it out in pencil then used Illustrator to redraw the out lines and then used Photoshop to colour in the character. The tools I used in Photoshop are the smudge tool and the paintbrush.

Today we all had to bring in all our work to get checked. I brought my research folder, sketchbooks and my final pieces. When I was checking my final piece my website didn't work so I asked Neil who told me to go to Lee instead. Lee said the problem I had was that I didn't save my attic SWF file in the same folder with the main website. Also when I was trying to open it in the base room it didn’t open and then later lee said the reason it wouldn’t open was because of the flash programme I used the newer version of flash which college doesn’t have.

I also forgot how to embed fonts into the flash file and Lee tough me 2 different ways to embed font:
1) select the font and then change the static text to dynamic text and then click embed.
OR
2) select the text and then go to modify menu then look for break apart. You will need to do this 2 times. This method makes the text in to shapes.
